Tesco is an international Group of distribution based mainly with the the United Kingdom, in Ireland and Asia. Its capitalization is of 30,104 billion euros (1st front the Groupe Crossroads) and its sales turnover is of 43,719 billion euros.

Tesco is the 1st British group of distribution (2 318 stores in 2003). Its activity turns around three poles: distribution in the United Kingdom, distribution with international and finance departments.

Distribution in the United Kingdom

1878 sales outlets (ensigns Extras, Superstores, T&S, Subway/high blinds and Express train blinds). Tesco is present in the food and not-food distribution (textile, pharmacy, data processing, optics, TV Video Hi-fi, electric household appliances, voyages, etc). He proposes also telephone services via Tesco Mobile (: 250000 customers) created in 2003 in partnership with O2 (1 British). Moreover, the group has a site of online shopping, Tesco.com.

Distribution with the international one

Tesco is present in Europe with 261 stores distributed out of 6 countries (82 in Ireland, 69 in Poland, 60 in Hungary, 23 in Slovakia, 22 in Czech Republic and 5 in Turkey) like in Asia with 179 stores (78 with the Japan, 64 in Thailand, 28 in South Korea, 5 in Malaysia and 4 with Taiwan); Tesco is also present in France, with Calais. The group has only one store in France specialized in the alcohol sale to the British. That is explained by less important taxation of alcohol in France than in the United Kingdom. The turnover carried out in 2006 was of 2 million delivers S.

Finance departments

More than 15 products and services (insurance, loans, saving, purchasing cards, etc). Tesco Personal Finances account more than 4 million customers.

Geographically, CA is ventilated between: The United Kingdom (80,3%), Europe (11%) and Asia (8,7%).
