Tervete (novads)
Tervete is a Novads of Latvia.
Geography
Tervete is located in the south of Latvia in the area of the Zemgale. Since fusion with the pagasti of Bukaiši and Augstkalne, its territory touches the border Lituanienne.
To see
Principal attraction is a park in the forest whose sculptures carry out us through the history of Sprīdītis (hero of a tale for children of Anna Brigadere) and in a village of dwarves. This park comprises also two turns of observation of which one allows a very broad vision on the surrounding plains.The city also has a sanatorium.
During the Soviet era the territory of Tervete accommodated an air base, it is not today in activity but one can see the vestiges of this one on the road which goes to Penkule.
