Terry Chimes
Terry Chimes (born the January 25th 1955 with London), so known under the name of Tory Chimes, was the original Batteur Groupe of Punk rock'n'roll English The Clash. He played with them of July 1976 in November 1976, January 1977 in April 1977 and still of May 1982 in December 1982. He briefly made a round with Black Sabbath of November 1987 in December 1987, like in May 1988.
With The Clash
Terry Chimes was a member of the group Punk English London S, also including/understanding Mick Jones and Paul Simonon in his rows, which was àl' origin of the formation of The Clash with Joe Strummer and Keith Levene.It took part in the recording of the first album of the group The Clash , before being replaced by Topper Headon.
In 1982, when Topper was transfered Clash because of its problems of Toxicomanie, the group required of Chimes to join the formation for the US round (in first part of the Who) and that the U.K. which followed.
It also appeared in the video Clip of Rock the Casbah .
Apart from the Clash
After having left the Clash, Terry Chimes played of the battery in many groups, among which:
- Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers in 1977,
- Generation X of 1979 with 1980,
- Hanoi Rock'n'rolls in 1985,
- The Bombz Cherry in 1986 (with the former members of Hanoi Rock'n'rolls Andy McCoy and Nasty Commits suicide like Dave Tregunna, ex- Sham 69/Wanderers/Lords Of The New Church)
- Black Sabbath on their round Eternal Idol Tour in 1987/88.
Today
Since 1994, it exerts as a Chiropraticien. In 2003, it entered to the Rock-and-roll Hall off Famed for its participation in the Clash.
