Territory of New Guinea

The territory of New Guinea was an Australian possession which included/understood the south-eastern quarter of the island of New Guinea.

The colonization of the territory began in 1884 pennies administration from the the United Kingdom. As from 1902, the area passed under administration of Australia until 1949, date on which it amalgamated with the Territoire of New Guinea to give rise to the Territoire of New Guinea-News-Guinea.

The territory of New Guinea forms from now on the southern part of the New Guinea-News-Guinea.
