Terreña
The terreña is a bovine race Spanish.
Origin
It is originating in the Spanish Basque Country. Rare race, it presents great resemblances to the Tudanca. The effective ones were in reduction in 1999. (220 cows for 9 bulls) a herd book was open in 2001 to try to safeguard it. Only 70 cows are registered there. The seed of four males was frozen.Morphology
It wears a brown dress to darker nuances at the ends and on the garrot. The horns are in quadrant in the cows and half the moon in the bulls.Aptitudes
It is an old race of work reconverted in nursing cow. She excels in the calf breeding in crossing with bulls of race bouchère, but the renewal of the females is not sufficient to allow the perenniality of this pratique.Rustique and of good longevity, it is a race which exploits a medium well where the races bouchères would have evil to be nourished suitably.
