Terpandre

Terpandre (in Greek old Τέρπανδρος / Térpandros ), musician and Greek poet, of Lesbos, flowered between 700 and 650 av. J. - C.

He added three cords to the quadrant, which until there had had only four, introduced into the poetry of new rates/rhythms, and invented the Scolie of it, species of extremely short song which one sang with table.

He was several times winner with the Olympic Games and succeeds, says one, to alleviate by his songs a sedition with Sparte.
