Terence

The Église of the Unification (or Association of the Holy Spirit for the Unification of world Christianity or sect Moon ) is a religious movement rested by the reverend Sun Myung Moon (also known under the name of Moon).

The Church of the Unification is sometimes described as Secte;

  • by its detractors in the direction of grouping religious, closed on itself and created in opposition to ideas and dominant religious practices ;
  • by the moonists who, while being based on the definition according to which a sect is together a of people professing the same doctrines (philosophical, religious, etc) accept the name of sect, by adding that the Church of the Unification is a sect as well as all the others Église S existing. However, they denounce the comparison of their movement to a sect as described above, because they indicate that the Church is opened with any person, whatever her philosophical or religious convictions. They indicate that it was created not in opposition but in the continuity of all the religions hitherto established (Christianisme, Islam, Judaïsme, Bouddhisme, etc).

History

The reverend Moon known as to have had the revelation of the Christ at the 16 years age in its native village close to Pyongyang (North Korea). It is defined as new the Messie, the only one with really being able to include/understand the Bible. For him God has initially creates the Judaism in Israel and the Church of the Unification in Korea.

During the Cold war, the Moon sect positions against the Communisme (with close links with the extreme South Korean line). The reverend Moon settles in the suburbs of New York where he always saw. The head office of the sect is located at New Yorker Hotel, in New York.

There would be 180.000 followers of the Moon sect in the world, especially in Korea, in Japan and the United States. The sect is prohibited in Singapore. Today the reverend Moon is in good term with the communist dictator Kim Jong-Il North-Korean. A park and a church were built in the place of the native village of the reverend in North Korea.

The reverend Moon has several companies, of humanitarian associations and his wife is the founder and president of Women' S Federation for World Peace, WFWP. Among the various companies of Moon an automobile factory (Panda) and a named company Tong II.

Anticommunist, the Moon sect would maintain the close links with various political parties of extreme right-hand side like the French National front or Belgian. In 1984 and 1989 Gustave Pordea then Pierre Ceyrac, two moonists was elected in the European Parliament on the list of the French National front.

Today an association of more than 300 lawyers of the whole world (Lawyer Society Connection) pleads for the victims of the Moon sect.

To Japan in 7 years (1980-1987), the sale of objects known as crowned by Moon followers would have brought back to 21 billion frank French to the sect.
