Insertions

  • surface layer: pit scaphoïde to the spine of the sphénoïde by circumventing the edge post large wing of the sphénoïde while narrowing. Reflects themselves on the hamulus to become horizontal and fits in range on the posterior edge of the horizontal blade of the palatine and on the against-side range. Role: statement the velum.
  • internal layer: fit on the side edge of the auditive horn in range and goes down on hamulus. Role: opening of the auditive horn during swallowing.

Innervation

  • sensitive: palatine large nerve and palatine accessories

  • driving: nerve trigeminal

The velum has a great mobility: it is fixed at the horizontal blade of palatine and presents a fibrous frame made up by the fibrous termination of tensor Mr. of the palate.
