Tenderloin
Tenderloin is an old district of New York, which was located at the full heart of Manhattan. The captain of police force Alexander Williams would have forged the term at the end of the Années 1870 to indicate the zone located in Midtown, between the 23 {{E}} street in the south, the 42 {{E}} street in north, the Fifth Avenue in the east and the Seventh Avenue in the west. The majority of this space form today part of Chelsea. Tenderloin belonged to the hot districts of the city, in particular because of many the brothels which were there. In 1914, the Afro-américain S of middle-class which populated Tenderloin started to migrate directly towards the north of the island, and primarily Harlem, which was in the beginning a white district. The name of the district started to disappear in the Années 1970, when many projects of rehabilitation of the zone were concluded.
