Tenacious D in The Pick off Destiny is an American film carried out by Liam Lynch, left in 2006.

Synopsis

JB (Jack Black) does not have a chance, not impassioned rock'n'roll, it lives in a family one cannot religious any more who thinks that rock' N roll is the work of Satan. After his/her father gave him a good beating and tore off the posters of his idols (AC/DC, The Who, Queen,…), the young JB addresses a prayer to Dio which answers him that it must leave the family home to go to Hollywood " the city of the fallen angels where the sea meets sand " to form a group, to overcome its own demons and to learn the secrecies from the Rock' N Roll.

Following long voyage through the United States (let us recall that there exists several Hollywood in the United States), JB thus arrives at Hollywood in California where it meets a guitarist (whom he compares at once with a god) named Kyle Gass . The first contact is not a frank success, but following the aggression of JB in the street by a band pointing out that of Alex in Clockwork orange, Kyle (which made him believe that he was a known musician) agree to teach the way of the Rock'n'roll to him. However, JB will discover that Kyle is not really the celebrity who he claimed to be and both will form the group that they will call Tenacious D according to the spots of birth that both relate to the buttocks. They thus leave together for the Open Mic (a contest of music) in order to earn money to pay the rent of Kyle which bought a guitar with all the money that his/her mother had sent to him.

However, their musical performance is not with the height of their hopes and that it they realize misses our duet quelquechose: the Médiator of the Destiny .
