Ten francs Mathieu type

The French part of ten francs type Mathieu of the Rousseau engraver is a part made up of Cupronickel - Aluminum having a weight of 10 grams and a diameter of 26 Misters.

It was manufactured of 1974 to 1987 with a total of 672.793.700 specimens
. With years of manufacture to more than 100 million specimens, this part is more current.

So it was victim with the passing of years many counterfeits.

It would have initially to be replaced by the Ten Francs type République.
Following the failure of this one, it was replaced by the new bi-metallic part with the standard of the Genius of the Bastille and was démonétisée on September 9th, 1991.
