Ten days which shook the world (Title original: Ten Days that Shook the World ) is a book of John Silas Reed published in 1920 telling the seizure of power in Russia by the Bolchevique S under the direction of Vladimir Lénine.
John Silas Reed, Socialist journalist and American, was pilot Russian Révolution 1917 in Russia. Reed followed several leaders Bolchevique S, especially Grigory Zinoviev and Karl Radek.
John Reed dies in 1920, little time after the publication of his book. He is to date the only American with being buried with the the Kremlin with Moscow, a site reserved for most eminent of the Soviet leaders.
Following the rise of the Stalinism in Russia, Joseph Stalin expresses his dissension with many points contained in Ten Days that Shook the World , particularly the parts relating to Leon Trotsky, the competitor of Stalin. The book shows Trotsky like the hero of the Revolution and mentions Stalin only once in a list of names. Consequently the book of Reed was banished by Stalin just like work of Trotsky.
