Temple of garrison
The Temple of garrison is located in the Commune Frenchwoman of Metz and the department of the the Moselle.
History
The Temple is built of 1875 with 1881 by the Architecte Rettig, in particular for the German soldiers of confession Lutheran. In the beginning, the temple of Style neogothic, was composed of 3 parallel naves and a central tower being located on the frontage and had 2400 sitted places. The choice of the style neogothic as well as the use of the Pierre de Jaumont shows that there is no yet will of Germanisation by the Architecture such as one will see it in the Années 1900, during the construction of the New Temple in Style néoroman and Calcaire gray.
It is unused after 1918 and partially destroyed during the second world war. Its Toiture burned in 1946. It was then decided that only the Clocher of 97 meters, a little higher than the tower of Mutte of the cathedral Saint-Etienne, would be preserved.
