Temple (subway of Paris)

Temple is a station of the Métro of Paris, on the line 3, in the 3 {{E}} district of Paris.

The station

Its opening dates from the October 19th 1904, with the startup of the first section of line 3 between Avenue of Villiers (today Villiers) and Père Lachaise.

The single entry of the station is on a quay level with the intersection of the street of the Temple and street of Turbigo (3rd district), baptized place Elisabeth Dmitrieff Thursday March 8th 2007, at the time of the international Journée of the Women.

A name come from Templiers

The name of the station refers to an old building of the Templiers, destroyed in 1811, located on the site of the current town hall of the III {{E}} district.

Temple is the only name shared by stations of London and Paris. The station Temple of the Métro of London is on the lines Circle and District, between the stations Embankment and Blackfriars. Like its homonym Parisian, it holds its name of Templiers.
