Tempelfjorden
The Tempelfjorden is the termination of the Isfjorden most inserted inside the Svalbard, in the east of the Sassenfjorden. The name of this Fjord comes from the typical geology of its banks which recalled to its discoverer the walls of a temple.
The glacier Tunabreen (breen: glacier) and Nordenskjoldbreen (of the name of its discoverer, Otto Nordenskjöld) come to melt at the origin of Tempelfjorden.
The Fjord is a protected natural reserve. It is the favorite reference mark of the majority of the species of Oiseau X nesting with the Spitzberg. One can see there Macareux, Goéland S, Mouette S, Sterne S or others Mergule S, Guillemot S and geese Bernache S.
