Television in New York
Lee De Forest made patent in 1907 Hearing, an amplifier, precursor of the cathode tube. Thanks to this invention, Manhattan of the years 1920 lives to be born and market the " hook set" , a station with rudimentary crystal which was sold in kit and by correspondence. One decade later, the New Yorkeans attended the beginnings of television. Today Manhattan is the seat of the three national private wide-area networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) and receives more than 250 other cabled stations and chains.
