Telephone tower of Stuttgart

The Tower telephone of Stuttgart (in German, Stuttgarter Fernmeldeturm ) is located on a hill called Frauenkopf , (coordinated geographical: ). Its height is of 192,4 meters.

It is used for the emission of the Hertzian waves (radio - in Frequency modulation in particular -, and television).

With the difference of its neighbor the Turn of television of Stuttgart ( Stuttgarter Fernsehturm ), moreover small size and of which it took over, it is not accessible to the public. It is also close to a small tower ( hertzian Tour of Stuttgart ) being used with the communications of the police force as Stuttgart.

Belonging to the company Deutsche Telekom AG, the tower was built out of reinforced concrete, of 1970 with 1972, by the firms Siemens-Bauunion und Wayss & Freytag, in the fields of the architects Leonhardt, Andrä and associated.

It is equipped with a technical control center of a diameter of 40,6 meters, located at 33,78 meters height above the ground. This center of operations is surmounted by a pylon integrating the radioelectric equipment of emission.

The tower of telecommunication of Stuttgart is periodically equipped, at the time of the festivals of end of the year, of decorative luminous equipment.
