Tele Atlas

Tele Atlas (,) is a Dutch company created in 1984 which provides numerical charts and other contents dynamics for the Navigation and the services of localization of which navigation GPS automobile and individual. It provides data used by a great number of cartographic applications on Internet.

Operations

The company produces charts covering 200 countries throughout the world, with cartographic data and " products of enrichment of cartes" such as points of interests or addresses. The customers of the company are the manufacturers of navigation systems car, companies Internet proposing of the cartography on their site but also of the administrations or the companies seeking of the geographical data.

Public offering of purchase

Since July 2007, the company is the subject of an public offering of purchase by the manufacturer of navigation system TomTom. Against offer in October by the competitor Garmin was made before Tom Tom does not overbid at the beginning of November.
