TeleFutura Network

Telefutura is an American network of television in Spanish language whose seat is based with Miami in Florida. It is the property of the group Univision Communications, based him with Los Angeles. It is diffused in the United States by hertzian way like with the Mexico.

History

The network was initially born within the USA Network under the name the USA Broadcasting and counted in 2000,13 interest and television broadcast stations in 4 others.

In the year 2000, the USA Network sees themselves in the obligation to restructure itself completely. The company resells the majority of its subsidiary companies as of December and especially during the year 2001.

In December 2000, Univision Communications becomes purchaser of the USA Broadcasting for 1,1 billion $. It re-elects it TeleFutura Network and decides to preserve it like a second network different of Television Univision Network.

The January 14th 2002, the chain is réoganisée with Spanish programs uninterrupted. Univision launches this offer one month before launching, by its competitor Telemundo, chains it bilingual Mun2. The chain proposes programs consequently such as:

End 2005, TeleFutura launches a program of current events diffused on line to 19:00 which was taken again by the network Galavision (also of the Univision group) to replace their newspaper preregistered before with 16:00.

In February 2006, Univision the head office of TeleFutura confirmed that she sought a transferee. Tribune Company proposed to buy only TeleFutura while other groups (Rupert Murdoch, Disney, Bill Gates) would be interested to buy the unit.
