Tele2

Tele2 is one of most important the alternate telecommunications operators in Europe with 28 million customers divided in 24 countries, which attracts its customers by the advertisement of costs of phone calls or access to Internet low than the historical operator.

Tele2 was created in 1993 by Jan Stenbeck and belongs today to the bottom of Swedish investment Kinnevik. Tele2 is with dimensions with the purse of Stockholm since 1996 and with the Nasdaq since 1997.

Tele2 is present in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, Suisse, Portugal, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Belgium.

Tele2 was present in Ireland and the United Kingdom, but in 2005, Tele2 sold with The Carphone Warehouse.

On the market of fixed telephony in France since 1999, the company launches out in mobile telephony the June 17th 2005, when Tele2 becomes a Virtual mobile operator (MVNO) lodged by Orange.

The future of Tele2 in certain countries is currently dubious because of financial problems. After the sale of its activities as a Czech Republic, it is the French subsidiary company which is on the way to be repurchased by the group SFR.

The activities fixed telephony and Internet of Tele2 France were taken again on July 18th, 2007 by the number 2 French of mobile telephony, SFR. The mobile phone activity of Tele2 does not form part of this transaction.
