Tekirdağ

Tekirdağ - in Bulgarian Родосто/ Rodosto , in Greek Ραιδεστός / Rhaidestós - is a town of Turkey, Préfecture of the province of the same name. It is located in Thrace, at the edge of the Marmara Sea.

History

For the Byzantine period it bore the name of Bisanthe (in Greek Βισάνθη ).
