Teillay
Teillay is a common French, located in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and the area Brittany.
Geography
Teillay, commune located at the borders of the department is known for its very beautiful forest of leafy trees. Called Tillia in 1160, Tellium in 1222, Tillay in 1636 and finally Teillay, it owes its existence to the lords of Chateaubriant who had there a feudal castle until XVe century. Set up in commune in 1878, it was attached administratively to Ercé in Spangled before. In addition to its agricultural activity, the extraction of the iron ore there marked first half of our century and disappeared today.
The site of Saint-Eustace, with the site of his old castle, draws up an oasis of greenery on a park of more than 15 hectares. The vault of the same name, near several arranged ponds and of an animalist park, shelters a splendid retable of the XVIIe century. The walkers and in love ones with nature come to stroll within this pretty natural framework. To the square of the mines of Brutz, an association gives in value the industrial site, memory of the deep mining of the iron ore.
Commune twinned with Bussy-Chardonney (canton of Vaud, Switzerland).
