A teacher is, in much country, a person in responsibility of teach in the schools near the young children, in particular with the nursery school and the elementary school.
Traditional name for the small classes is “schoolmaster”.
In France
Instituteur is a body of the French Public office, qualifying teachers having for mission of working with the children provided education for with the elementary school, that it is at the maternal school or the elementary school . The body of the teachers was created by the law of December 12th 1792. For the training of the teachers were created primary teacher training schools whose creation evoked as of 1794, becomes effective as from 1810 (Strasbourg) then obligatory for the teachers according to the Loi Guizot of June 28th 1833. This important body for the training of the children disappeared in his nomination and its current function. African countries of the west like Mali, knew famous teachers like Modibo Kéïta, Warikè Diarra, MocTar Chérif Fofana, Thierno Diarra and so much of othersJuly 19th 1889, the teachers become civils servant of State.
This body, of category B, is gradually replaced by the professors of the schools, of category has that one, since 1989.
In Belgium
The teachers are formed in the teacher training schools, belonging to the teaching higher education of short type (three years), and which depend either on the official network, or of the free network.
