" Even under the freest constitution, ignorant people are esclave" … " We do not wish that the men think as us but that they learn how to think according to them-mêmes" … Condorcet.

Created in 1987 on the initiative of the French League of Teaching and Further education, in particular under the impulse of Claude Julien, in reference to the Marquis de Condorcet, the Condorcet Circles are the associations of citizens, established on the whole of the French territory and in a certain number of foreign countries.

Various by their origins, their competences, their track records, the members of the Circles gather with at the same time simple service of one project and ambitious " to be citoyens".

They refuse to passively undergo the full changes, sometimes brutal, which shake our companies until in their bases, when new ideologies, material forces and commercial, destroying logics of our environment, produce inequalities and exclusions.

The project of the Condorcet Circles is of:

* To promote the critical spirit * to fight the misinformation * to affirm positions based on the exercise of the critical reason and the values of the Republic. * to give to the citizens the opportunity to meet to refine their reflection and to play their part fully in the public debate, for an enriched and renewed democracy.
