District of Tchilanzar

Tchilanzar or Chilanzar ( Chilonzor in Uzbek (means " Place Fleur i"), Russian Чиланзар in ) is a very wooded residential district located in the South-western part of the town of Tachkent, capital of the Ouzbékistan. The district extends on the territories from the districts from Tchilanzar (Chilonzor) and Aqmal-Ikramov (Aqmol Ikromov) from the city.

The district of Tchilanzar was set up in the rural suburbs of Tachkent starting from 1956 and took especially a considerable expansion following the Earthquake of 1966 which shook the city. Several organizations of construction sent by the Soviet republics built free according to their plans and original materials of the dwelling houses and the infrastructures in this district. One can particularly note the contribution of the manufacturers of Moscow (district 26), Leningrad (25), Bielorussia (24), Georgia, Azerbaïdjan, Kirguizie, Arménie, RSFS of Russia (district 23).

Places of interest:

  • Gone covered (Bazaar) Farkhadski (Farhod bozori), 3rd by the size downtown.

  • Stage, swimming pool and sports complex of the army (ex-Troudovyé Réservy).
  • Stations of subway " Chilonzor" and " Ulug' bek" , inaugurated in 1977.
  • National park Oulougbek with a lake and a public beach.
  • Monument with Al-Khorezmi (Al-Khuwārizmī), large scientist of the the Middle Ages.

The street Katartal located in Tchilanzar is regarded as the pink District (place of prostitution) of the Uzbek capital.

District of Tchilanzar

The district (raïon) of Tchilanzar ( Chilonzor tumani in Uzbek, Чиланзарскийрайон in Russian) is an administrative unit of the town of Tachkent formed in 1963 and located between the channel Oq-Tepa (Aktépé: " Hill White he") in North, the channel of Bourdjar in the East, and the street Bobur in South-west. Its surface is of 2  530 hectares. Its delimitation differs from that of the district of Tchilanzar.

Places of interest:

  • the district of Oq-Tepa (Aktépé) close to the river of Boz-penny in the district of Tchilanzar conceals an archeological site of the period of before the Arab invasion. The site is composed of a Kourgane 15 m height, is dependant on the worship of the pantheist and vestiges of a strong Château square with 4 turrets dating from the 4th century. The site also has additions also of religious use dating from the V {{E}} at the 8th centuries. Any door to believe that Oq-Tepa was a major commercial crossroads of the city ( madina ) of Tchatch, ancestor of Tachkent.
