Tayeb Saleh (Arab: rear RTL الطيّبصالح) is a writer Sudan board born in 1929 in Markaz Marawi in the north of the Sudan. It is the one of Arab great writers with Taha Hussein and Naguib Mahfouz.

Coming from a modest milieu and primarily made up by farmers, it intended to help its family in the Agriculture and thought of making studies of agronomy or of working in the fields. But the destiny wanted some differently. For him, he would never have written if he had not left his country.

He continues his studies superiors at the University of Khartoum to complete them in England. He works initially like a teacher for short a period and then joined the Arab section of BBC to London. He was representing UNESCO with the Golfe, based with the Qatar, between 1984 and 1989

Its works were translated in more than 30 languages of which most famous is Saison of the migration towards north (Mawssim will alhijra ila ashamal) 1971 which is regarded as a masterpiece of the contemporary Arab literature, from its form and its topic.

He received the price of the third meeting of the Arab Novel.
