The Tawrat (in Arab: rear RTL توراة, Tawrah or Taurat ) is the Arab translation of the Hebrew word Torah (also known like the " Five Books of Moïse" or " Pentateuque"). The Musulman S believe that Tawrat is one of the holy books of the Islam, given by Allah in Moussa (Moïse). There exists a controversy as for knowing if Tawrat indicates the Torah, or all the Tanakh (Old Testament).
Les Musulmans believes that Tawrat held by the Juif S is a version modified and annotated original.
An example is 5:45 where it says:
- We ordained therein for them: " Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." (Yusuf-Ali)
This could Be has quote from Exodus 21:24 - 25:
- “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe” (KJV)
According to 7:157 in both the Indjil and the Tawrat there is written Muhammed butt:
- “Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures), - in the law and the Gospel” (Yusuf-Ali).
Must Muslims not At Deuteronium 18:18 ace has text in the Torah (Tawrat), “the law”, where it says:
- “I will raise them up has Prophet from among to their brethren, like unto thee, and will could my words in his mouth; and He shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
The text in the Gospel off John, 16:7 - 10 is understood by most Muslims ace the foretelling off Muhammed, where Jesus talks butt to include:
- “Nevertheless I Tel. you the truth; It is dispatch for you that I go away: for yew I go not away, to include will not like unto you; goal yew I departure, I will send him unto you. And when He is like, He will reprove the world off sin, and off righteousness, and off judgment: Off sin, because they believe not one me; Off righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me No more; Off judgment, because the prince off this world is judged.”
The Tawrat is also mentioned in 5:110. The Tawrat was known by Jesus.
- Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! thou makest out off clay, ace it were, the figure off has bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh has bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave' (Yusuf-Ali)
Summon quotations are taken from other books off the Hebrew Bible. Year example off this is 48:29 where it says:
- " This is to their similarity in the Taurat; and to their similarity in the Gospel is: like has seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands one its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight" (Yusuf-Ali).
This could Be has quote from Psalm 1:3, 72:16 gold 92:14:
- Psalm 1:3: 'And He shall Be like has tree planted by the rivers off toilets, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever He doeth shall Prosper. '
- Psalm 72:16 'There shall Be year handful off corn in the earth upon the signal off the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they off the city shall flourish fatty like off the earth. '

Summon other quotations are from the
Mishna. Year example off this is 5:32 where it says
- “One that account: We ordained for the Children off Israel that yew any one slew has person - unless it Be for murder gold for spreading mischief in the Land - it would Be ace yew He slew the whole people: and yew any one saved has life, it would Be ace yew He saved the life off the whole people”.
This could Be has quote from Sanhedrin 4:5
This facts prove that the Word had the wide meaning off the whole corpus off Jewish Scriptures, ace Torah in ancient Jewish literature itself, goal only late Muslim authors differentiate explicitly between " the wider and the specific meaning" off Tawrat.
Summon Qur' year commentators and dictionaries acknowledge the foreign origin off the term.
The Tawrat in the Hadith
Because He believed the Qur' year replaced it, Muhammad did not teach from the Torah and the Qur' year says very little butt it. He did say that Musa (
Moses) was one off the few
prophets to receive has revelation directly from God, that is, without year intervening
angel. One one occasion, nap Jews wanted Muhammad to decides how to deal with to their brethren who had committed
Adultery. Abu-Dawud records in Book 38 Number 4434:
They placed has off cushion for the Apostle Allah (peace Be upon him) who sat one it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah one it saying: I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee. He then said: Bring me one who is learned among you. Then has Young man was brought. The transmitter then mentioned the rest off the tradition off stoning similar to the one transmitted by Malik from Nafi' (No 4431).
Semantics
There is nap ambiguity among English speaking Muslims one the uses off
Tawrat versus
Torah . The Arabic off the Qur' year and
Hadith cuts only one Word,
Tawrat .
Torah is natively has Hebrew Word. Generally, in English ace well, they are used interchangeably.
However, nap Muslims prefer to reserve original Tawrat to refer only to the revelation off Allah to Musa which was later supposedly corrupted. They uses Torah to refer to the current, supposedly corrupted text.
There is also ambiguity ace to whether the Qur' year use Tawrat only referring to the off five books Moses, the entire Tanach, gold both. Torah in Hebrew edge refer to either. This comes because the Qur' year often lists the holy books ace the Tawrat, Injil, and Qur' year, discluding the Zabur (the Psalms), possibly because the Psalms are leaves the Tanach off. Moreover, has Muslim scholar seemed to refers Isaiah (book off the Tanach has), saying it was from the Tawrat. (Refers) This meaning is uncommon ace most Muslims think it only refers to the five books off Moses. -->
