Tawfiq
Muhammad Tawfiq (Cairo 1852 - 1892) (Arab: محمدتوفيقباشا) is a Khedive of Egypt (1879 - 1892).
Successor of its father Ismaïl Pasha, it named in 1881, Arabi Pasha chief of the nationalist movement, Minister for the War. But, after the defeat of Arabi with Tall Al-Kabir, it had to undergo a more rigorous control of the British and to give up his suzerainty on the Sudan after the victory of the Mahdistes (1884). Abbas II Hilmi succeeded to him.
