Taurasi (wine)
The Taurasi is an Italian wine of the area Campanie equipped with a name DOCG since March 26th, 1970. Only to DOC. the red wines collected inside the surface of production defined by the decree are entitled. The authorized vineyards are located in Province of Avellino in the communes Taurasi, Bonito, Castelfranci, Castelvetere sul Calore, Fontanarosa, Lapio, Luogosano, Mirabella Eclano, Montefalcione, Montemarano, Montemiletto, Paternopoli, Pietradefusi, Sant' Angelo ale ESCA, San Mango sul Calore, Torre Nocelle and Venticano.
Legal minimum ageing: 3 years, of which at least 12 month was of oak or chestnut like 6 months out of bottle.
The red wine of the Taurasi type answers a schedule of conditions less demanding than the 'Taurasi riserva, primarily in relation to ageing and the alcohol content.

Taurasi is tasted at a temperature ranging between 16 and 18°C and will keep 5 - 15 years.
