Donn Tatum (January 9th 1913 - May 31st 1993) was the first chairman and managing director of Walt Disney Productions not to be of the Disney family. It had had various positions of director executive during 25 years and was chairman of 1971 to 1980. He worked for Disney jusuq' in 1992, when he was named Directeur Emeritus . He played an important part during the creation of Walt Disney World Resort, EPCOT Center and Tokyo Disneyland.

Biography

Tatum grows with Los Angeles and obtained a diploma with congratulation with the Université of Stanford, bachelor in political science and economic, thus of a diploma in right to the Université of Oxford. It was allowed at the bar of California in 1938 and was engaged by the cabinet Lillick, Geary and McHose in the service law of the world of the spectale.

It supported many companies in their steps and was consulting for RCA, NBC and ABC. It was named responsible general for chain KABC-TV of Los Angeles and director of the Western zone of the branch television at ABC.

Tatum was engaged by Walt Disney Productions like person in charge of the production in 1956. Fifteen years later it succeeds Roy Oliver Disney as chairman and managing director of the Walt Disney Company, it will be the first member apart from the Disney family.

He was a member of the directory of CalArts, chair Fondation Disney , association of the television Californienne , unified association of the cerebral paralyzes ( United Cerebral Palsy ) and Stanford Club of Los Angeles.
He was also member of the Royal Society off Arts of London, honorary member of the Academy of arts and sciences of the télébvision (ATAS) and it company of television and radio of Hollywood.

He is deceased the May 31st 1993 in Los Angeles.
