The maakond of Tartu (or Tartumaa ) is one of the 15 Régions of Estonia. Surrounding Tartu, the second city of the country, the area counts 149.000 inhabitants, that is to say 11% of the total of the Estonian population. Its surface is of 2.993 km ².
