Target Center
The Target Center is a general sports room located in the center of Mineapolis at the Minnesota and sponsored by the company Target Corporation.
Since 1990, its tenants are the team of Basket-ball NBA of the Timberwolves of Minnesota but also the Lynx of Minnesota which are a female team of Basket-ball evolving/moving in WNBA since 1999. In 1996, the Minnesota Fighting Pike (Arena Football League) there made a short passage. Target Center has a capacity of 20.500 places for the Basket-ball, 17.500 for the Hockey and the American football in room then 19.500 for the concerts (Center-training course). The room can also be configured for the going theater with a capacity from 3.000 to 7.500 places. It has 68 continuations of luxury and 1.350 seats of club.
History
The Target Center opened its doors the October 13rd 1990, after 27 months of work, and cost roughly $104 million dollars. The Timberwolves of Minnesota played their first match in their new residence, the October 16th 1990, against the 76ers of Philadelphia. Target Center was the first room of the kind to the the United States to fight against the nicotinism. In 1990, Target Corporation bought the rights of name of the room for $18,75 million dollars over 15 years.Target Center was sold by the owners of origin (Marv Wolfenson and Harvey Ratner) at the town of Mineapolis (although management changed hands some times) in March 1995 and Ogden Entertainment managed the installation. The September 22nd 2000, management was acquired by SFX Entertainment then SFX Entertainment was sold in Clear Chanel Entertainment with the beginning of the year 2001. Clear Chanel Entertainment ensured the contôle places until May 2004 when Midwest Entertainment Group (MEG), a joint venture between the Timberwolves and Nederlander Concerts, intervened as a manager on May 1st 2004. The May 2nd 2007, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) assumed the contract of management of Target Center. The town of Mineapolis is owner of the arena and AEG manages the daily operations.
The Target Center is one of the three arenas NBA (TD Banknorth Garden of Boston and Amway Arena of Orlando) with a surface in parquet floor.
In 2004, the room undergoes several restorations, of which the replacement of the 19.006 seats and increase in the capacity in 20.500 places in configuration Basket-ball. The arena was initially built to be a place in concerts, which remains its strong point still to date because it is classified in 5th position in the multitudes with the the United States.
The room is currently in deferment taking into consideration lack of continuations of luxury. It changed on several occasions owners besides.
U.S. Bank Theater
U.S. Bank Theater makes it possible Target Center to be configured specifically for the spectacles with capacities going from 3.000 to 7.500 spectators.The events organized with the U.S. Bank Theater can include family concerts and spectacles to quote only some of them.
