The Taoiseach (word Irish, // pronunciation, becomes Taoisigh in the plural) is the Prime Minister of the Irish Republic.
It is named by the Dáil and is indicated by the President. Taoiseach appoints the ministers and can withdraw their wallet to them (with justification).
Taoiseach advises the President in connection with dissolutions or of the convocations of the Dáil. It can present the bills (articles of law) once voted, with the President for signature. Taoiseach must also hold informed the President of the national and international businesses.
In fact, Taoiseach is the most visible character of the Government and speaks on its behalf for all the major political aspects.
Taoiseach chairs the meetings of the Cabinet and ensures the coordination of the various ministries as it checks that the decisions and the orientations of the cabinet are correctly included/understood and implemented by each ministry.
Taoiseach is also the representative of the Irish State beyond the borders. It represents the Ireland abroad and in particular it sits with the other Heads of State of the European Union to the European Councils.
Taoiseach and the ministers are collectively responsible for their acts and their policy in front of the Dáil Éireann . Taoiseach is assisted by the Government Chief Whip (in approximate English, the whip-in-chief of the Government ).
