Tannay is a common French, located in the department of the Nievre and the area Burgundy.

Geography

History

The site is occupied since the Period of Hallstatt. The name could come from the Celte tan , Chêne.

The city is quoted as of 1121, under the name of Tanneio . The Parish was set up in 1130 and was transformed into Collégiale in 1201.

The commune is freed in 1352. The city is devastated in 1356 by the troops of Charles the Bad. It is thus strengthened during the 15th century.

In 1854 one establishes a fairground on the place of the church.

The adduction of Eau is established in 1932.
