Tank of Tsimliansk

The tank of Tsimliansk (in Russian: Цимля́нскоеводохрани́лище) is an artificial lake established on the course of the Don, between the towns of Volgodonsk and Kalatch-Na-Donou, in the Oblast S of Rostov and Volgograd. The tank 302 km is long, has a maximum width of 38 km and a surface of 2  700  km ². It contains 23,9 billion cubic meters of water.

The stopping, which is in the north of the town of Volgodonsk, was built of 1949 with 1955. Its hydroelectric station has a power of 160 MW. The tank of Tsimliansk makes it possible to regularize water of the lower course of the Gift, it facilitates navigation and the Irrigation. The area cultivates the Blé, the Riz, the Coton, the Maïs, the Luzerne, the fruits, the Vigne and vegetables.
