Tank of Novossibirsk
The tank of Novossibirsk (in Cyrillic Russian Новосибирскоеводохранилище), sometimes named sea of Ob (Обскоеморе) is an artificial water tank created on the river Ob, close to the town of Novossibirsk.
It constitutes the principal element of the hydroelectric station of Novossibirsk ГЕС (Новосибирскаягидроэлектростанция). This unit was carried out between 1957 and 1959 in the Oblast de Novossibirsk and the Krai of Altaï. The cities bordering this tank are Novossibirsk (Akademgorodok), Berdsk and Kamen-on-Ob. The impact was most important in Berdsk whose historical center was immersed and is from now on integral part of the tank… Some villages surrounding Novossibirsk underwent the same fate.
The tank is largest of the Oblast de Novossibirsk:
- surface of 1070 km ²,
- volume of 8,8 km ³,
- length 200 km,
- width going up to 17 km.
