Tank of Kouïbychev
The tank of Kouïbychev (in; ) is also sometimes called tank of Samara or sea of Kouïbychev . It is a fresh water tank located on the course of the the Volga at 700 km in the east of Moscow, in Russia. It crosses the republics of Tchouvachie, the Maris and the Tatarstan and the Oblast S of Samara and Oulianovsk.
The tank has a surface of: 6450 km ², a volume of 58 km ³ and is located at an altitude of 53 meters. It is the vastest tank of Europe.
The towns of Kazan, Oulianovsk and Togliatti are located on banks of the tank. The town of Samara is a few kilometers further along the Volga. The construction of the stopping started in 1955 and the tank was filled in 1957.
