Tank of Bratsk
The tank of Bratsk (in Russian: Бра́тскоеводохрани́лище) is a fresh water tank located on the river Angara in Russia. It is in the Oblast d' Irkoutsk and the Okroug of Bouriatie-Oust-Orda. The tank draws its name from the town of Bratsk, which is the largest city located on its banks. Its surface is of: 5470 km ² - during its inauguration, it was the largest tank in the world. It can contain until 169,27 km ³ of water. It extends over a length of more than 500 km and reached a maximum depth of 150 Mr. It is located at an altitude of 402 Mr.
The construction of the stopping started in 1964 and the tank was filled in 1967. Length of: 4417 m and high of 125 m, the stopping is traversed on its top by a road. It also produces hydro-electric energy (puissance : 4 500 MW).
