The price Tanizaki , 谷崎潤一郎賞, created with its death in 1965 in homage to the great writer Jun' ichirō Tanizaki by the publisher Chuo-Koron Sha, fact left the important Japanese literary prizes, just like the price Akutagawa, 芥川龍之介賞.
Contrary to this one, however, the Tanizaki price rewards the long novels and not the news or Romance courts. It thus rewards more often for the authors having already proven reliable.
The prize winner receives a commemorative plaque as well as a purse of a million yens.
