Tangerine Dream is a German group which specializes in the Electronic music (the members of the group are strongly in disagreement with the label “New Age”). It was founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese which studied the Peinture and the Sculpture. The group undergoes several changes of personnel with the passing of years and Froese was the only constant member. The beater and type-setter Klaus Schulze were a member of one of the first formations, but the most stable version of the group for their most influential period of the years 1980 was the trio of clavierists Froese, Christopher Franke and Johannes Schmoelling.
