The Tanganyika was a British protectorate of East Africa resulting from the scission of the German colony of the German Eastern Africa in 1919 and become the independent Tanganyika on December 9th, 1961.

Of 1884 with 1919 (treated of Versailles) it is a German colony. It then passes under British control . In 1961 it reaches the Indépendance.
