Tancredi - in French, Tancrède - is one of the first operas of Gioacchino Rossini. He was written for the theater of Fenice, with Venice, where he is represented for the first time the February 6th 1813.

He is attached to the kind Opera seriated - serious opera Italian -, whereas the majority of the other operas written by Rossini at that time are opera buffa - light operas.

Tancrède , which gained a very great success near the Venetian ones, contributed much to the fame incipient from Rossini, which is not yet 21 years old when it composes it.
