Tally out of manchonné steel
The construction of a tallies out of steel manchonné is one of the better known techniques to manufacture a tallies of Vélo. It is a question of connecting several cylindrical tubes in Acier by sleeve S (or connections ), machine parts which make it possible to attach the tubes. The connections between the tubes and the connections are carried out thanks to the Brasage, which proceeds to a temperature lower than that of the Soudage. Historically speaking, the majority of the Alliages of steel did not tolerate the high temperature necessary to welding without weakening of metal, which would require the use of thicker tubes (and thus heavier). Brazing produces a very strong junction which has the advantage besides of being easier to repair than a welded framework, because one can “die-braze” the tubes in the same way employed to connect them.
There exist sleeves out of normal steel and Stainless steel, but those are more difficult to braze.
