Synopsis
In the Years 1950, Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) is charged by Herbert Greenleaf, a rich person American ship-owner to bring back to America, its playboy of wire, Dickie (Jude Law), which fled the family pressure in Italy where it spends the holidays “prolonged” with his been engaged Marge (Gwyneth Paltrow), financed by his/her father. Tom discovers an idyllic world, between idleness and boxes of jazz… But when Dickie ends up being wearied of Tom and its friendship refuses to him, Tom is ready with very to adapt this life of dream…Patricia Highsmith (already adapted with Alain Delon in the role of Tom Ripley), the suspense holds in breath the spectator throughout film, with a good set of actors (the duet Jude Law/Matt Damon functions perfectly). One finally comes from there to wonder, like says it the slogan of film, " until where let us be itself someone else? ". --->
Critical
Forty years after film of Rene Clement, with Alain Delon; Anthony Minghella adapts the novel of Patricia Highsmith, Mr. Ripley , more known in France under the name of Plein sun . With final, one finds a thriller machiavelic with the trio Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as an exceptional original soundtrack taken along by the great names of the jazz.
