Tale of chivalry

Name given to narrative works in Prose which took again the adventures of the chansons de geste and of the courtly romance of XIe-XIIIe centuries. This literary kind profited from a great popularity in Spain and with the Portugal at the 16th century, and was for Miguel de Cervantes the object of a parody in Don Quichotte of the English Channel . The last book of the kind was Policisne de Boecia , published in 1602, however much were republished during the 17th century. The knight of the cart like Yvain or the knight with the lion was the first tales of chivalry.
