Talaat Harb (طلعتحرب) or Talaat Pasha Harb (born the November 25th 1867 - deceased the August 23rd 1941) is a Egyptian economist and the founder of the Banque Misr in May 1920.

The foundation of the Bank Misr, the first banks really Egyptian and thus whose shareholders and members were of Egyptian nationality and where the Arab Langue (national language) was used permanently, was a major stage in the determination of a national economic identity in Egypt.

This idea emerged initially in 1907 when Talaat Harb, then industrial known for its nationalist sympathies, published a work calling with the creation of a national bank whose financings would be of Egyptian origin. It put the finger on the overseas investments, carried out according to him against the interests of the country. Talaat Harb continued to plead in favor of this creation with each time the occasion was given to him, with an untiring determination. In 1911, it published a second work entitled the Egyptian Economic reform and the project of a national bank , where it clarifies its economic sights for Egypt.
