Tal Farlow
Talmage Holt Farlow' (June 7th 1921 - July 25th 1998) known as Tal Farlow is a guitarist of American jazz.
Biography
Tal Farlow was born on June 7th, 1921 with Greensboro in North Carolina (the USA). It is deceased on July 25th, 1998 with New York.Although his/her father was musician amateur, Tal began the guitar only in 1942. In 1946 it started to work with the vibraphonist Marjorie Hyams whose trio occurred in alternation with the trio of Parker then dice 1948 it was engaged by Buddy de Franco and then by the trio of Red Norvo with Charlie Mingus with the double bass. Tal recorded more than one half-dozen of albums under its name between 1953 and 1959. its virtuosity opened the road at a school of improvisers to the hard and aggressive attack, and carried the guitar far from the soft sonority of the " cool". It is the best representing style hardware-bop.
A film on its life Talmage Farlow was made in 1981 by the realizer Lorenzo DeStefano.
