Taktser is a small village of the Amdo, in the North-East of the Tibet. It is known to be the native area of Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalaï LAMA. Taktser means " Tiger rugissant". It is the July 6th 1935 which was born Lhamo Dhondup, which means " Goddess propice" in a family of simple farmers, working the grounds which they rent (barley, buckwheat and potatoes) and raise some animals.

Whereas Lhamo Dhondup is three years old, a team sent by the Gouvernement Tibetan seeking the reincarnation of the 13th Dalaï Lama, Thubten Gyatso deceased in 1933, arrives at the monastery of Kumbum, near of Takster. Several elements had indicated to the investigators that they would find the reincarnation of Dalaï Lama in this area. A large LAMA, Reting Rinpoché had had the vision of a monastery on three floors and the gold roof then of a path which went up in the mountain and led to a small house whose gutters had a strange form. The investigators thus left to research this house where they were certain to find the reincarnation of the 13th Dalaï Lama. And thus, seeking this village of which they do not know the name, they arrive at Takster.

When the investigators notice the branches of genévrier which are used as gutters on the house of the parents of Lhamo Dhondup, they understand quickly that new Dalaï Lama is in the vicinity. They ask hospitality for the night and do not reveal the goal of their visit. Their chief passes the evening besides to be played with the junior by the children. They set out again the next morning to return some time later, officially this time. They bring with them of the objects having belonged to the 13th Dalaï Lama. Lhamo Dhondup identifies the objects like his. The investigators are then convinced that the child that they have in front of them is new Dalaï Lama.

At 4 years, Lhamo Dhondup receives the responsibility of direct Peuple Tibetan and becomes the 14th Dalaï Lama.

Today, Dalaï Lama will be 72 years old. He does not live any more with the Tibet but in India, with Dharamsala. There remains the spiritual leader and temporal with the eyes of the Tibetans.
