Taksony (Latin: Toscus ; Slovak: Takšoň ) (v. 905 - v. 972) was Fejedelem (i.e. sovereign prince) of Hungary of 955 to its death. He is the son of Zoltan. One knows relatively little things on his life.
He organized many raids in the close territories and was probably present at the battle of Lechfeld the August 10th 955, in which the Hungarian army lost its Bulcsú chief. The relations between the Hungarians and the Byzantines degenerated gradually, perhaps because in the way in which they were described by the emperor Othon I {{er}} of Germanic, i.e. like the pagan ones. Although Taksony asked for to the pope Jean XII of send a bishop in Hungary, it really never supported Christianity. It had two wire, Géza, whose descent stopped quickly, and Mihály, which continued the line of Árpád.
