Takht-e Suleiman
Takht-e Soleyman تختسليمان|the throne of Solomon is the place more crowned Zoroastrisme and empire Sassanide. July 3rd, 2003, 24 sites were registered on the list of the world heritage of UNESCO; one of these sites was Takht-e Soleyman . This site of the world heritage is located close to the town of Takab, in the province of the Western Azerbaïdjan, in Iran.
The strengthened site is located in a valley extending in the middle of a mosaic from fields cultivated at 400 km at the west from Teheran. The site is composed of the remainders of a sanctuary zoroastrien partially rebuilt during the period Ilkhanide as well as a temple of the time Sassanide which was dedicated to the Persian goddess Anahita (Persan poderne: Nahid ). As much of other sites in Iran such as Firouzabad, the researchers think that the plans of the temple of fire, the palate and the general organization of the site would have strongly influenced the Islamic Architecture.
The legend tells that the King Solomon was accustomed to imprisoning monsters to 100 m of depth in the crater close to Zendan-e Soleyman , the " prison of Salomon". Another crater inside the fortifications itself is filled with spring water; it is said that Solomon would have created a basin which exists always today. A Armenian manuscript of the 4th century with proposes Jesus and Zoroastre as several historians of the Islamic period mention this basin. One allots the foundation of the temple of fire around the basin to this legend.
The archaeological excavations have reveals traces of an occupation during the period Achéménide with, as well as occupations Parthes in the citadel. Coins belonging to the reign of the kings Sassanides as with the Byzantine emperor Théodose II (408 - 450 ap JC) were also here discovered. According to the legend, each potential leader sassanide travelled here in order to subject to the furnace bridge fire crowned before going up on the throne.
